Ella Langley has claimed a new place in Billboard history after her country hit, “Choosin’ Texas,” extended its run at the top of the US Billboard Hot 100 to 23 weeks.
The feat puts the 27-year-old Alabama singer ahead of Mariah Carey, whose “All I Want for Christmas Is You” previously held the record with 22 weeks at No. 1. Carey’s total was accumulated across multiple holiday seasons following the song’s 1994 release.
“Choosin’ Texas” was released in October 2025 and later became Langley’s first No. 1 on the all-genre Hot 100. The song also topped Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart and has recorded strong streaming, radio and sales figures, according to data compiled by Luminate.
The song, written by Langley with Miranda Lambert, Luke Dick and Joybeth Taylor, has become one of the defining successes of Langley’s career. It was later included on her album Dandelion, released in April 2026.
Reacting to the milestone in an Instagram video, Langley said the achievement had transformed her life and that of the song’s writers and her family, adding that she intended to celebrate the occasion.
