Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce has reacted humorously to Taylor Swift’s viral celebration during the team’s overtime victory over the Indianapolis Colts, saying he was simply “doing my deed as a husband.”

The New York Post reported that the moment followed Kelce’s 13-yard touchdown reception in the Chiefs’ 33-30 victory on Sunday. Television cameras captured Swift pointing toward her wedding ring and appearing to shout, “That’s my husband,” as the clip quickly gained attention online.

Speaking on the “New Heights” podcast with his brother, Jason Kelce, on Wednesday, Travis reviewed some of the memes inspired by the moment and joined in the jokes about married life. “Proud wife, gotta make my girl proud,” he said while reflecting on the reaction.

Kelce has made a strong start to the season, recording 12 catches for 172 yards and one touchdown through two games. Chiefs coach Andy Reid has also credited the tight end’s offseason work, while joking that Swift may have helped keep him motivated following their private July wedding. Kansas City, now 2-0, will face the winless Miami Dolphins on Sunday.
