The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested Halimat Adenike Tejuosho, a former South-West zonal coordinator of the women’s wing of the City Boy Movement, months after the anti-graft agency declared her wanted over an alleged fraud case.

Tejuosho was taken into EFCC custody on September 8, with the commission confirming the development on Saturday, September 26, following reports linking her to allegations of obtaining money by false pretence.

EFCC spokesperson Dele Oyewale confirmed her detention, saying, “She is in our custody.”

Her arrest follows a wanted notice issued by the commission in April in connection with an investigation reportedly arising from complaints over alleged appointment and contract scams.

The investigation, according to reports, had been ongoing since mid-2025, before the EFCC publicly sought information on her whereabouts.

Tejuosho’s involvement in the City Boy Movement had also come under scrutiny after the organisation suspended her as its South-West zonal coordinator following the EFCC’s declaration.

The development now brings her into direct custody of the anti-graft agency as investigators pursue the allegations against her.

The EFCC has not convicted Tejuosho of any offence, and the allegations remain subject to investigation and any subsequent legal proceedings.
