Ibom Air has appointed two executive directors to oversee finance and legal and corporate affairs as the state-owned airline moves to reposition its operations for a new phase of growth.
The appointments of Mr Mfon Udomah as Executive Director, Finance, and Dr Eno Udoma-Eniang as Executive Director, Legal and Corporate Affairs, were announced by the airline’s board in Uyo on Monday.
Udomah, a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria, brings more than 30 years of experience across the private and public sectors, while Udoma-Eniang has over three decades of corporate experience spanning telecommunications, fast-moving consumer goods, financial services and emerging technology.
Both executives are expected to assume their responsibilities immediately, although their appointments will be presented to shareholders for ratification at the company’s Annual General Meeting scheduled for November 2026.
The board also announced the retirement of Akwa Ibom State Attorney General, Uko Udom, SAN, from the airline’s board after five years of service.
Udom, a legal practitioner with more than 40 years of experience in aviation law, was commended by the board for his contributions to the company during his tenure.
The leadership changes come as Ibom Air continues to develop its position in Nigeria’s aviation market, where operational reliability, financial management and effective corporate governance remain important to sustainable growth.
Owned wholly by the Akwa Ibom State Government through Ibom Airlines Limited, the airline has built its service around schedule reliability, on-time departures and passenger experience.
Its current fleet comprises seven Bombardier CRJ 900 aircraft and three Airbus A220-300 aircraft, serving seven domestic destinations and Accra, Ghana.
The announcement was signed by Aniekan Essienette, Group Manager, Marketing and Communication, Ibom Airlines Limited.
