Edo State House of Assembly member Natasha Osawaru has drawn renewed public attention to her marriage to Nigerian singer Innocent Idibia, popularly known as 2Baba, after introducing herself by her full name during a plenary session without using the singer’s surname.

According to Naija News, Osawaru identified herself as “Honourable Natasha Irobosa Osawaru” while addressing the House. She represents Egor Constituency and serves as the Assembly’s minority leader.

During the session, the lawmaker also spoke in support of proposed emergency-response legislation aimed at strengthening the state’s capacity to address incidents such as flooding, erosion and fires.

Her use of the Osawaru surname has prompted speculation about the state of her marriage, particularly amid renewed public interest in the couple’s relationship. However, the name she used during plenary does not establish that a separation has occurred.

The speculation has also followed reports of a disagreement between the couple at an Abuja nightclub in August and Osawaru’s absence from 2Baba’s 51st birthday celebration and album listening party in Lagos.

Neither Osawaru nor the singer has publicly confirmed that their marriage has ended. The circumstances surrounding her use of the surname during the Assembly session remain unclear.
