Reform UK has launched investigations and suspended some party members following an undercover investigation that recorded councillors and election candidates making racist, Islamophobic, sexist and violent remarks.
The investigation by ITV Exposure captured party figures across England and Wales making derogatory comments about Muslims, Asian communities and Black children. One councillor also called for King Charles III to be beheaded over an unsubstantiated claim that the monarch was Muslim.
According to The Independent, the footage was gathered during the May local elections and four by-election campaigns in 2025 and 2026. Among those recorded was Alan Feeney, a Reform councillor in Solihull, who described Asian families as “parasites” and advocated forcibly deporting them to Pakistan. Another Reform figure in the area, Chris Whelan, made an offensive remark about a female party candidate. Both men have since resigned from Reform UK, according to the report.
Dean Miller, a Reform councillor in Bromley, was also filmed making derogatory comments about Black children and expressing violent views towards migrants crossing the English Channel. He later resigned from the party. ITV reported that Miller said he was disabled and heavily medicated at the time. The investigation also captured other party figures making controversial remarks about migrants and minority communities.
Reform UK accused ITV of using deceptive methods to obtain the footage but acknowledged that some members, activists and councillors had behaved inappropriately. The party said investigations had commenced and suspensions had been imposed in some cases, adding that its vetting procedures had been improved.
The revelations drew criticism from opposition parties. Labour chair Bridget Phillipson called for members found to have made such comments to be expelled, while Liberal Democrat leader Sir Ed Davey described the report as chilling. A Conservative Party spokesperson also criticised Nigel Farage over the conduct of individuals associated with his party. The documentary is scheduled to air on ITV on Sunday night, according to the report.
