President Bola Tinubu has unveiled a pipeline of 65 investment projects seeking $78.5 billion in funding, urging Nigerian and international investors to commit capital to ventures expected to create jobs and expand economic opportunities.
The announcement came alongside the World Bank Group’s plan to mobilise up to $5.79 billion in private financing for Nigeria, with agriculture and digital infrastructure identified as key areas for investment.
Tinubu disclosed the figures in a statement on the sidelines of the 2026 IMF–World Bank Annual Meetings in Bangkok, Thailand, where Finance Minister and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Taiwo Oyedele, and Central Bank of Nigeria Governor, Olayemi Cardoso, presented the investment opportunities at the Nigeria Investors Forum.
The President said the investment drive was part of his administration’s efforts to attract private capital following its economic reforms.
“We undertook our economic reforms to build a stronger foundation for investment and give more Nigerians the opportunity to earn a better living,” Tinubu said.
He urged investors to examine the projects and engage directly with their sponsors through Projects Nigeria, an initiative providing information on the investment opportunities.
“I invite Nigerian and international investors to examine these projects and engage directly with their sponsors through Projects Nigeria,” he said.
Tinubu also pledged government support to address obstacles that could prevent viable investments from progressing to implementation.
“Our administration will work with you to resolve obstacles and move viable investments into execution, creating jobs and expanding opportunities for our people,” he said.
The proposed $78.5 billion investment pipeline represents a significant financing ambition, although the amount sought is not equivalent to funds already committed or secured.
Similarly, the World Bank Group’s proposed mobilisation of up to $5.79 billion is a financing target rather than confirmation that the entire amount has been disbursed.
The focus on private financing reflects the administration’s strategy of attracting investors to support business expansion and infrastructure development, while seeking to widen economic opportunities for Nigerians.
