Eight suspended lawmakers of the Zamfara State House of Assembly have received vehicles from the Minister of State for Defence, Bello Mohammed Matawalle, in a move linked to efforts to strengthen the APC’s political base in the state.
Channels Television reported that the vehicles were released on Matawalle’s directive, with the Managing Director of the Nigeria Agricultural Insurance Corporation, Yazid Shehu Danfulani, handling their presentation to the beneficiaries.
The intervention comes against the backdrop of disagreements within the Zamfara chapter of the All Progressives Congress, with renewed attention on bringing affected members back into the party’s activities ahead of the 2027 elections.
Aliyu Ango Kagara, leader of the suspended lawmakers, conveyed the group’s appreciation to Matawalle and declared their readiness to support President Bola Tinubu’s bid for a second term.
The report also linked the lawmakers’ return to the state to a reported directive from Tinubu urging them to contribute to rebuilding cohesion within the party.
