Governor Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom State has appointed Aniefiok Johnson as his first Chief of Staff, seven months before the end of his first term in office.
Johnson, who previously served as Executive Assistant and Chief Delivery Advisor to the governor, was appointed to coordinate activities in the Governor’s Office.
The All Progressives Congress Media Network, in a statement on Friday, described the appointment as a reward for loyalty, competence and diligent service.
The statement, signed by the Acting Director-General of the network, Comrade Uwem Bassey, said Johnson earned the governor’s confidence through his performance in his previous position.
It said his knowledge of the governor’s priorities and productive working relationship with him would be valuable in coordinating the administration and ensuring effective operations in the Governor’s Office.
The APC Media Network commended Eno for the appointment, saying it demonstrated that diligence and commitment to duty could earn recognition and advancement under his administration.
The group expressed confidence that Johnson would bring his experience to bear on the new assignment and justify the confidence reposed in him.
