NDLEA Intercepts Woman With 266 AK-47 Bullets Along Abuja-Kaduna Highway

Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have arrested a woman found in possession of 266 rounds of live AK-47 ammunition along the Abuja-Kaduna Expressway.

The suspect, identified as Aisha Isah, was reportedly picked up during a security patrol at a toll gate along the busy highway.

The agency disclosed the arrest in a statement released on Sunday by its Director of Media and Advocacy, Femi Babafemi.

However, details surrounding the incident remain unclear, as the NDLEA has yet to reveal where Isah was coming from, where she was heading or how the ammunition came into her possession.

The agency also did not provide information on whether the suspect had been formally charged or handed over to another security agency for further investigation.

The arrest was part of a series of operations carried out by NDLEA operatives in different parts of the country, leading to the recovery of illicit substances and the detention of several suspected drug traffickers.

The circumstances surrounding the movement of the ammunition and the suspect’s alleged involvement are expected to become clearer as further investigations unfold.
