AAC presidential candidate and political activist, Omoyele Sowore, has condemned an alleged blockade and attack on the convoy of the presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Peter Obi, in Benue State.

Sowore, in a post on X on Tuesday, said he had watched videos which appeared to show a “state-sponsored blockade and attack” on Obi as he attempted to enter the state capital for “legitimate campaign activities.”

He alleged that the incident involved agents of the state government and the Bola Tinubu administration, describing the development as an “unacceptable” act of political intimidation.

Sowore argued that no candidate should be prevented from campaigning anywhere in Nigeria through “violence, intimidation or alleged state-sponsored thuggery.”
He said such actions threatened the democratic rights of Nigerians and called on those allegedly responsible for the incident to desist immediately.
