Ten passengers have been injured in a multiple-vehicle accident on the Third Mainland Bridge in Lagos.

The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) said the crash occurred on Wednesday morning when a commercial bus that stopped to fix a faulty tyre was hit by another bus.

A trailer subsequently rammed into the second bus before fleeing the scene.

Emergency responders administered first aid to the injured passengers before evacuating them to hospital for treatment.

LASEMA said the affected section of the bridge was later cleared and reopened to traffic.
