The All Progressives Congress (APC) is stepping up its women-focused mobilisation ahead of the 2027 presidential election, with the party’s women mobilisation directorate targeting 40 million votes for President Bola Tinubu and Vice-President Kashim Shettima.
As part of the drive, First Lady Oluremi Tinubu is expected to lead a gathering of more than 20,000 women stakeholders in Abuja on Monday as the party works to strengthen its grassroots support ahead of the election.
According to Northern Nigeria Hub, the gathering is being organised by the Women Mobilisation Directorate of the APC Presidential Campaign Council as part of preparations to expand the party’s grassroots structure ahead of the election. The programme is scheduled to hold at the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Conference Centre, Abuja, under the theme, “Renewed Hope Agenda 2.0: From Reforms to Prosperity.”
The organisers are expected to use the event to strengthen women-led campaign structures and promote the Federal Government’s social intervention programmes, including expanded cash transfers and other initiatives targeted at vulnerable households. The mobilisation also comes amid growing political activity by parties and support groups as preparations for the 2027 presidential contest intensify.
Northern Nigeria Hub also reported that the APC women’s mobilisation leadership has called on women in the South-East to reinforce their grassroots networks and take the Renewed Hope message to communities across the region. The meeting is expected to combine empowerment with early campaign mobilisation as the APC seeks to consolidate support among women ahead of the general elections.
