Apostle Tom Samson, founder of Christ Royal Family International Church, is mourning the death of his wife, Apostle Lanre Samson, barely a week after the couple celebrated 34 years of marriage.

The cleric announced her passing on Thursday, September 24, 2026, in a Facebook post, according to a report by Legit.ng.

Apostle Lanre Samson was described in the announcement as a beloved mother in the Lord, with the church expressing grief over her sudden death and reflecting on the lives she touched during her lifetime.

Her death came just six days after the couple marked their 34th wedding anniversary on September 18, adding to the grief surrounding the family’s loss.

Members of Christ Royal Family International Church and other sympathisers have since taken to social media to express their condolences and pray for the bereaved family. Several described the deceased as a woman of faith and offered words of comfort to Apostle Tom Samson.
