The 2025 International Women’s Day conference, hosted by Pear Media and Marketing Services in Uyo, emphasized action over rhetoric in advancing women’s leadership, business, and personal development.

 

With the theme “Accelerate Action: Breaking Barriers, Building Bridges,” speakers urged women to challenge limitations, create opportunities, and push for inclusivity. Mrs. Unyime Ebong, the event convener, stressed the need for meaningful connections that empower women to thrive.

Highlights included expert discussions, fireside chats, and leadership insights from speakers like Mrs. Enobong Etuk and Mrs. Nkoyo Etuk, who underscored the importance of discipline, resilience, and intentional leadership.

 

In a bid to support female entrepreneurs, Ambassador Mfoniso Umoetuk announced a ₦500,000 business support fund, which was further boosted by a ₦100,000 anonymous donation for two young business owners. Additionally, Mrs. Ukeme Brown donated a brand-new laptop to empower beneficiaries.

 

The event concluded with a strong call to action—women must break barriers, support one another, and accelerate progress in all spheres of life.
