House of Representatives member Alhassan Ado Doguwa has urged voters across Northern Nigeria to rally behind President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 general election, describing the President’s re-election as a moral responsibility for the region.
Doguwa, who heads the Northern Caucus in the House of Representatives, argued that a renewed mandate for Tinubu would help preserve national unity and peaceful coexistence. He called on political stakeholders and voters in the North to support the President’s second-term ambition.
In a statement personally signed by him, the lawmaker appealed to Northerners to translate their support into votes, insisting that collective action would be crucial to Tinubu’s chances in the forthcoming election.
He made the appeal on Saturday while hosting members of the All Progressives Congress (APC), area supervisors and council advisers from Doguwa at his residence in Kaduna.
According to Doguwa, the visit was connected to political preparations ahead of the 2027 elections in his Doguwa/Tudun Wada Federal Constituency, as party members begin mobilising for the polls.
The lawmaker expressed optimism about the APC’s electoral prospects in the North, maintaining that votes from the region would play a significant role in determining the outcome of the presidential contest.
He also dismissed what he described as propaganda against Tinubu and the ruling party, arguing that the continued visits and expressions of solidarity he receives reflect sustained grassroots support for the President and other APC candidates.
Doguwa’s declaration adds to the growing political mobilisation ahead of the 2027 general election, with party leaders and political groups increasingly making appeals to secure regional support for their preferred candidates.
