The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has dismissed claims that 50 positions in its ongoing recruitment exercise were secured for constituents of a Gombe State lawmaker, Ali Isah.

Isah represents the Balanga/Billiri Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives.

The Corps said no candidate had been appointed under the 2026 recruitment exercise, stressing that appointment letters had not been issued to any applicant.

According to Channels Television, the clarification was contained in a statement issued by the FRSC Corps Public Education Officer, Osondu Ohaeri, on Wednesday.

The agency explained that applicants who passed the screening and interview stages had only been invited to designated training schools and the FRSC Academy for subsequent phases of the exercise. It stressed that participation in the training does not amount to appointment, as candidates must still complete the required training, screening, regimentation and other procedures before final consideration.

The FRSC also said political office holders, individuals or groups had no authority to confer appointments outside its established recruitment framework. It urged applicants and members of the public to disregard claims suggesting that recruitment positions had been allocated through political connections and to rely on official channels for updates.

The controversy has also drawn political reactions in Gombe, with Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate Rambi Ayala calling for an investigation into the origin of the claim and urging authorities to identify those behind the information.

The FRSC warned that unverified recruitment claims could mislead job seekers and expose them to fraudulent schemes.
