HAVE YOU HEARD OF RFID IN AVIATION?

Your baggage may soon carry a digital identity—making it easier to track along its journey. 👀
It may sound like old news, but someone asked Aerolens360 what RFID means and how it could impact aviation in Nigeria. So, we thought we’d simplify it.

On August 12, 2026, the NCAA announced plans to introduce RFID technology across domestic and international terminals to tackle missing and misrouted luggage in Nigeria.

But what exactly is RFID?

RFID simply means Radio Frequency Identification.

Think of it as a smarter way of identifying and tracking your luggage.

An RFID-enabled baggage tag can be detected by special readers as your bag moves through the airport.

So, if your luggage doesn’t arrive with you, the system could help airlines determine where it was last detected

In simple terms:
RFID helps airports keep a better eye on your bag as it moves.
That could mean better baggage traceability, improved handling and a smoother passenger experience.

👇🏽 What do you think;
IS RFID THE GAME-CHANGER NIGERIAN AVIATION HAS BEEN WAITING FOR IN BAGGAGE TRACKING?
