Nigerian chef and Guinness World Record holder, Hilda Baci, has urged tourists and investors to take a closer look at Akwa Ibom State, describing the state as “amazingly beautiful” and highlighting its growing infrastructure, hospitality and investment opportunities.
Baci made the call on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, after a meeting with Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, at Government House, Uyo.
The Akwa Ibom-born chef said the pace of development across the state, its peaceful environment and emerging investment opportunities were remarkable, while expressing confidence that the state had the facilities and atmosphere to attract more visitors and businesses.
She singled out the Victor Attah International Airport for praise, describing its facilities as world-class, first-rate and impressive.
Baci also commended the hospitality and industriousness of Akwa Ibom people, saying the state possessed considerable potential in tourism, recreation, hospitality and other sectors capable of supporting business growth.
She expressed willingness to collaborate with relevant stakeholders to contribute to the continued development of the state and encouraged tourists and investors to explore its opportunities.
Receiving her earlier, Governor Eno praised Baci for what he described as her daring and adventurous spirit, noting that her determination and courage had enabled her to break barriers and achieve international recognition.
Eno said Baci’s achievements had brought pride to Akwa Ibom and urged her to continue projecting the state positively through her activities and achievements.
