Former Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Commissioner, Barr. Mike Igini, has urged Nigerians to remain vigilant on election day and use video recordings to document activities at polling units.
Igini warned voters against staying away from polling stations, saying their presence and active participation could help deter electoral malpractice.
“You have the right by law to do video recordings of anything going on at the polls,” he said.
He added that Nigerian voters collectively represented a vital safeguard against electoral irregularities, noting that voters would always outnumber INEC officials and other polling personnel.
