The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has scheduled the display of the National Register of Voters and collection of Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) in Akwa Ibom State from Friday, October 9, to Thursday, October 15, 2026, as part of preparations for the 2027 general elections.
The exercise is for eligible voters who registered or transferred their voting locations during the first phase of the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise conducted between August and December 2025.
In a public notice, INEC’s Akwa Ibom State office said the exercise would take place at 329 Registration Areas and wards across the state, between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. on weekdays.
The commission urged eligible voters to check their names on the displayed register and collect their PVCs in person, using their registration slips as proof of registration.
It emphasised that PVC collection by proxy would not be allowed, in line with the Electoral Act, 2026.
INEC further announced that from Friday, October 16, 2026, PVC collection would continue at its local government area offices across the state’s 31 local government areas.
The commission advised eligible registrants to take advantage of the designated period to verify their registration details, correct any discrepancies through the appropriate channels and collect their cards ahead of the 2027 general elections.
