Candidates sitting on admission offers from previous admission exercises now have another month to make a decision, as the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has extended the deadline for accepting or rejecting outstanding offers.
The deadline, originally set for August 31, 2026, has been moved to September 30, giving candidates offered admission between 2021 and 2026 what the board described as a “final opportunity” to regularise their admission status.
JAMB’s Acting Director, Public Affairs and Protocol, Fabian Benjamin, announced the extension in a statement posted on X on Saturday, urging affected candidates to act before the new deadline rather than wait until the final days.
The board said candidates who accept their outstanding offers will be able to proceed with printing their admission letters, while those who reject theirs will have their JAMB dashboards changed to “Not Admitted” to enable the board to update its records.
JAMB also clarified that candidates who are no longer studying at the institutions where the old admissions were offered, or who have moved to different programmes, may accept the outstanding admission before applying for the appropriate correction or deletion, depending on their circumstances.
The board warned that failure to take action by September 30 could affect the status of the admissions, stressing that candidates should use the extension promptly to resolve any pending admission issues and ensure that their records accurately reflect their current academic status.
