Karibi-George Secures Miss World Top 40 Spot After Africa Top Model Victory

Nigeria’s representative at the 2026 Miss World competition, Tamunosoye Karibi-George, has secured a place in the Top 40 after winning the Africa Top Model title.

According to PUNCH, Karibi-George emerged victorious on Thursday during the ongoing Miss World Festival in Vietnam, giving Nigeria an early success at the international pageant.

Her Africa Top Model victory automatically earned her a place in the Top 40 quarterfinals, keeping her in the race for the Miss World crown.

Karibi-George had earlier won the Miss World Nigeria 2026 title, earning the right to represent Nigeria at the 73rd Miss World Festival. She defeated 19 other finalists at the national pageant held at the Balmoral Hall of the Federal Palace Hotel in Lagos.

The 26-year-old beauty queen, who is from Port Harcourt, Rivers State, represented Bayelsa State at the national competition. She is also the founder of Beyond Labels, an initiative focused on inclusion, dignity and empowerment for children with special needs.

Her latest achievement gives Nigeria a strong start in this year’s competition, as contestants from around the world take part in a series of challenges and activities leading to the final.

With her Top 40 qualification already secured, Karibi-George will now seek to advance further in the race for the Miss World crown.
