Former Anambra State Governor and Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has visited the Nigerian Air Force facility in Abuja to sign the condolence register following the recent aircraft crash.
Obi disclosed the visit in a post on his X account on Tuesday, saying he had gone to formally pay his respects to the military personnel who died in the crash.
The former presidential candidate said the tragedy had reinforced the need to recognise the risks undertaken by members of the Armed Forces and other security agencies in the course of protecting the country.
According to him, the men and women serving in Nigeria’s security agencies routinely expose themselves to danger in the line of duty, making their contributions worthy of greater appreciation.
Obi expressed sympathy to the Nigerian Air Force as well as the families, colleagues and loved ones of the deceased, praying for strength for those affected by the loss.
“May God grant eternal rest to the departed and give their families the strength and fortitude to bear this painful loss,” he said, while also praying for continued protection for personnel serving the country.
