Penis Enlargement Procedure Claims Life Of British-Nigerian Influencer

Penis Enlargement Procedure Claims Life Of British-Nigerian Influencer

A 43-year-old British-Nigerian businessman and social media influencer, Igho “Tiny” Ubiribo, has died after a penis enlargement procedure in Thailand reportedly triggered a fatal pulmonary embolism.

Ubiribo underwent the cosmetic procedure at a clinic in Bangkok in March, where 40 millilitres of hyaluronic acid and lidocaine were injected. Shortly afterwards, he complained of chest pain and collapsed twice while receiving a massage with his wife.

He was rushed to a Bangkok hospital, where doctors diagnosed a pulmonary embolism, a potentially fatal blockage of blood flow to the lungs. He was transferred to intensive care, but efforts to save his life, including more than 100 minutes of cardiopulmonary resuscitation, proved unsuccessful.

A UK postmortem examination reportedly found cellular material in Ubiribo’s lungs consistent with the hyaluronic acid used during the procedure. At an inquest, Coroner Jean Harkin ruled that the cosmetic treatment caused the pulmonary embolism that led to his death.

Ubiribo, who was known on social media for his lavish lifestyle, had about 185,000 Instagram followers. His death has highlighted the potentially life-threatening complications that can follow elective cosmetic procedures, particularly when performed away from a patient’s home country.
