Nigerian singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has explained his recent lack of public spending, saying he was simply going through a period of financial difficulty.
The Zazu crooner made the disclosure while addressing his followers on social media, where he also revealed that he had secured a paid performance at an All Progressives Congress (APC) state rally in support of President Bola Tinubu.
Portable said he had already received payment for the engagement, adding that the income would enable him to spend more freely after what he described as a period of being broke.
He was responding to perceptions that he had become stingy, insisting that his reduced spending was not deliberate but a result of not having enough money at the time.
Legit.ng reported that the singer said he expected people to notice a change in his spending now that he had received money from the rally engagement, while also appealing for continued financial provision.
