At least 14 people have been killed and 14 others injured following a drone attack on a railway station in Dnipro, central Ukraine, Channels Television reported, citing regional authorities.
The head of the Dnipropetrovsk regional administration, Oleksandr Ganzha, announced the updated casualty figures on Thursday, saying six of the injured were in critical condition. The victims included an 11-year-old boy, while a man reportedly lost both legs in the attack.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said the drone struck a platform where commuter and passenger trains were stationed. Ukraine’s air force reported that three jet-powered drones had been intercepted during the daytime assault, while another breached its defences and hit the railway facility.
Zelensky condemned the incident and called on Western allies to maintain pressure on Moscow. He also questioned recent moves to ease some sanctions on Russia, arguing that the concessions had not stopped attacks on Ukrainian territory. French President Emmanuel Macron similarly criticised the continued strikes, saying a local ceasefire was insufficient to secure a broader halt to hostilities.
The Dnipro attack occurred as a local truce around Russian-occupied Oleshky entered its third day, allowing preparations for humanitarian assistance and possible civilian evacuations. Despite the temporary pause in that area, attacks were reported elsewhere in Ukraine on Thursday.
In Chernihiv, two 15-year-old girls were killed in a strike on the city centre, while nearly two dozen people were reportedly wounded. Another drone attack on a residential building in Kremenchuk killed three people and injured several others, including a six-year-old child.
The latest casualties come amid intensified Russian drone and missile attacks on Ukrainian cities and infrastructure. Kyiv has accused Moscow of targeting energy facilities and transport networks as winter approaches, raising concerns about the impact on civilians.
