Sani Rewards 255 Kaduna APC Ward Chairmen With Land, Cash Ahead Of Elections

Sani Rewards 255 Kaduna APC Ward Chairmen With Land, Cash Ahead Of Elections

KADUNA State Governor Uba Sani has rolled out a major incentive for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) grassroots structure, allocating 255 plots of land and cash gifts to the party’s ward chairmen across the state.

The gesture, announced by the Director-General of the Kaduna Geographic Information Service (KADGIS), Bashir Garba Ibrahim, represents one plot for each of the state’s 255 APC wards. Ibrahim disclosed the development at a capacity-building programme for APC ward and local government chairmen in Kaduna.

Beyond the material benefit, the allocation comes as the party intensifies efforts to strengthen its grassroots machinery ahead of the 2027 elections. The governor’s intervention places ward chairmen—often the closest link between political parties and communities—at the centre of his strategy for sustaining APC structures at the local level.

The announcement was made during a one-day workshop organised by the Kaduna APC Digital Campaign Project, signalling an effort to combine traditional grassroots mobilisation with the growing influence of digital platforms. The training was themed, “Effective Digital Campaigning for Voter Mobilisation,” with “Modern Tools for Grassroots Engagement” as its motto.

Participants were trained on how to use digital platforms to communicate party programmes, mobilise voters, promote APC candidates and build stronger connections with communities. The initiative reflects the increasing importance of social media and other digital tools in political campaigns, particularly as parties prepare for increasingly technology-driven electoral contests.

With the land and cash package coming alongside digital campaign training, the Kaduna APC appears to be pursuing a two-track grassroots strategy: strengthening its ward-level political structures while equipping its leaders with modern communication tools. The development further underscores the growing focus on ward organisations as political parties position themselves for the 2027 elections.
