Barrister Kufre Udosen, Akwa Ibom State Governor Umo Eno’s Special Adviser on Political and Social Orientation, says he has appealed a court ruling ordering him to pay N540,000 in rent arrears and vacate a shop in Ikot Abasi.
Udosen described the judgment as erroneous, adding that he was unaware of the notice relating to the case.
The ruling was delivered on August 17, 2026, by Chief Magistrate Nsikak Ibanga in a suit filed by Ime Archibong Akpan, owner of a one-room store at No. 245 Ibekwe Road, Ikot Abasi.
The tenancy began in January 2015 and expired in December of the same year, according to details contained in the judgment.
The court ordered Udosen to pay N540,000 in rent arrears, N10,000 in costs and N5,000 monthly as mesne profit from October 2025 until possession is delivered. He was also directed to surrender the premises by October 9, 2026.
The judgment stated that Udosen did not appear in court to defend the suit. It further authorised the court bailiff to force open the premises if he failed to comply with the possession order.
