The United States has supplied the Nigerian Air Force with additional military equipment as part of ongoing defence cooperation between both countries.
The delivery was announced by the United States Africa Command (AFRICOM) in a statement shared on X on Thursday.
According to AFRICOM, the equipment was transported to Nigeria aboard a US Air Force C-17 aircraft over the weekend under an existing Foreign Military Sales agreement.
The command said the latest delivery is expected to deepen security cooperation between Washington and Abuja while providing further support for Nigeria’s campaign against terrorism in the region.
AFRICOM described the delivery as part of efforts to strengthen the military partnership between the two countries and assist Nigeria in addressing terrorism and related security challenges.
The development comes as Nigerian security forces continue operations against terrorist groups and other threats affecting the country’s security landscape.
