The Federal Capital Territory Administration has set a completion target for all projects initiated under President Bola Tinubu, with Minister Nyesom Wike assuring that none would be left unfinished before the expiration of the administration’s tenure.

Wike disclosed this during a media chat in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, saying the FCT had recorded substantial progress in infrastructure delivery under the Tinubu administration. He said 76 of the 107 capital projects approved since Tinubu assumed office had already been completed, while 10 others were scheduled for commissioning before the January elections.

The minister said the FCT Administration was also addressing inherited projects, noting that 23 of the 25 projects taken over from the Muhammadu Buhari administration had been completed, with the remaining two still under construction. Similarly, six of eight projects inherited from the administrations of former Presidents Goodluck Jonathan and Umaru Musa Yar’Adua have been delivered.

Wike maintained that the administration’s approach was to ensure continuity rather than abandon projects initiated by previous governments. He pledged that the remaining Tinubu-era projects would be delivered before the end of the President’s tenure, stressing that the Renewed Hope Agenda required projects to be completed within the period of the administration.

Defending the FCT’s performance, Wike challenged critics to compare the pace and scale of ongoing infrastructure development in Abuja with those of previous administrations. “In the history of the FCT, no government has done what we have done in Abuja,” he said, urging anyone who disagreed to present a contrary record.
