Pedro Neto has reaffirmed his commitment to Chelsea by signing a new contract that will keep him at Stamford Bridge until 2032, strengthening manager Xabi Alonso’s long-term plans for the club.
The new agreement comes after the Portugal international turned down interest from several Premier League clubs during the summer transfer window, including Manchester City, opting instead to continue his career in west London.
Neto’s decision gives Chelsea another important piece of continuity as the club reshapes its squad around players prepared to remain part of Alonso’s project. The 26-year-old has quickly become one of the manager’s versatile attacking options, capable of operating on either wing, behind the striker and even at wing-back.
Since arriving from Wolverhampton Wanderers for £54 million in August 2024, Neto has made 108 appearances for Chelsea and contributed 40 goals and assists. He has also started the current campaign strongly, scoring twice, including the decisive goal in Wednesday’s Carabao Cup comeback victory over Leeds United.
His growing importance is also reflected in his contribution to Chelsea’s recent successes. Neto played a role in the club’s UEFA Conference League triumph and FIFA Club World Cup victory in 2025, scoring three times during Chelsea’s Club World Cup campaign.
The timing of the renewal is particularly significant following Chelsea’s sale of Enzo Fernández to Manchester City for £125 million late in the transfer window. While Fernández sought an exit, Neto’s decision to remain represents a contrasting show of confidence in Chelsea’s direction under Alonso.
Neto said his relationship with the club had influenced his decision to stay, describing Chelsea as a place where he had increasingly felt at home and expressing his desire to achieve more with the team.
His renewal follows improved deals for other important members of the squad, including João Pedro, Reece James and Moisés Caicedo, underlining Chelsea’s strategy of securing the futures of players regarded as central to the club’s plans.
For Chelsea, Neto’s extension is therefore more than a reward for his early-season form. It represents another step in establishing a settled core around Alonso, with the winger now committed to the club through 2032 and expected to remain a key component of its long-term ambitions.
