Former Vice President and 2027 African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, has called for renewed efforts to ease the economic pressure on Nigerian households, saying the welfare and dignity of citizens must remain central to efforts to build a better country.

Atiku made the call in a post on his official X account on Thursday after receiving former First Lady Aisha Buhari during a visit.

Reflecting on the encounter, Atiku said the country faces an urgent responsibility to address the difficulties confronting families as the cost of food, transportation, education, healthcare and other essential needs continues to put pressure on household finances.

He said Nigerians deserve an economy where hard work can translate into opportunity and families can meet their basic needs with dignity and hope.

According to Atiku, addressing the economic hardship requires collective efforts to reduce the burden on citizens and rebuild confidence in the country’s future.

He concluded with his call to “Make Nigeria Affordable Again.”
