A group of All Progressives Congress (APC) stakeholders in Benue State has called on members of the Benue Strategic Alliance to resolve their differences within the party or risk disciplinary action over alleged anti-party activities.

Vanguard reported that the group, known as the Concerned Benue APC Stakeholders, made the position known after a meeting in Abuja on Thursday, urging dissatisfied members to use the appropriate organs of the party to air their concerns rather than pursue actions capable of weakening the APC.

Its convener, Dr Dominic Alancha, said the stakeholders had previously opposed Governor Hyacinth Alia’s re-election effort but had reconsidered their position in the interest of party unity and what he described as the supremacy of the APC.

Alancha alleged that some members associated with the Benue Strategic Alliance were working with smaller political parties in ways that could undermine the APC in the state and affect its electoral prospects ahead of the 2027 elections.

He maintained that political disagreements should not be allowed to translate into actions against the party, stressing that the APC constitution applies to all members regardless of their status or influence.

The stakeholders said they would support the re-election efforts of Alia and President Bola Tinubu while defending the records of their administrations. They also urged APC leaders to intervene where necessary and ensure that any alleged violations were addressed through due process.

Alancha appealed to members of the Strategic Alliance and other dissatisfied groups to return to the party, saying their concerns could still be presented to the appropriate state or national organs of the APC.

He warned, however, that members found to have violated the party’s rules would be subject to disciplinary measures prescribed by the APC constitution.
