Former Delta State Governor Emmanuel Eweta Uduaghan is reportedly dead, SaharaReporters reported on Monday, citing multiple sources close to his family.
The report comes months after rumours of his death circulated on social media in June, prompting his media aide, Henry Unini, to publicly dismiss the claims.
At the time, Unini confirmed that Uduaghan was alive and receiving medical attention, acknowledging that the former governor had been experiencing health challenges.
He also said Uduaghan was recuperating and urged the public to refrain from spreading unverified information about his condition.
In its latest report, SaharaReporters said sources close to the family confirmed Uduaghan’s death, but details surrounding the circumstances were not immediately available.
Uduaghan served as Delta State governor from 2007 to 2015, succeeding James Ibori and later handing over to Ifeanyi Okowa.
