The Golden Mandate Movement (GMM) is set to mobilise grassroots support for All Progressives Congress (APC) candidates ahead of the 2027 general elections at a voter sensitisation rally scheduled for Friday, October 30, at the Ikot Ekpene Sports Stadium, Akwa Ibom State.
The rally will combine voter education with the endorsement of APC candidates, with organisers targeting party members, community leaders, youths, women and other political stakeholders across the state.
In a statement issued by its International Publicity Secretary, Comrade Sixtus Tom, the movement said the event would focus on encouraging eligible voters to obtain and safeguard their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) and participate peacefully in the electoral process.
Senate President Godswill Akpabio and Akwa Ibom State Governor Umo Eno are expected to attend as special guests of honour, while the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Frank Archibong, will chair the occasion.
The APC State Secretary and GMM Grand Patron, Envoy Nsentip Akpabio, will serve as chief host, while Engr. Enobong Patrick, Chairman of Chapter Chairmen, will lead the Central Planning Committee.
The Governor’s Political Adviser on Political Affairs, Prince Godwin Ntuk Udeh, is expected to deliver a lecture on the role of grassroots mobilisation in sustaining democratic governance and national development.
The rally is themed, “Your Voice, Our Mandate: Mobilising the Grassroots for 2027 – No PVC, No Voice for Democratic Engagement and National Development.”
According to the organisers, the campaign will also promote peaceful political participation, discourage electoral violence and address voter apathy ahead of the elections.
The movement said the gathering was intended to strengthen its grassroots structures and encourage eligible citizens to make informed choices at the polls.
GMM has invited eligible voters, community leaders, youths, women and other stakeholders to attend the rally at the Ikot Ekpene Sports Stadium.
