Senator Solomon Adeola, popularly known as Yayi, has set an ambitious electoral target for President Bola Tinubu in Ogun State, promising to secure at least two million votes for the president in the 2027 general election.
Adeola, who is the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Ogun, made the commitment during the inauguration of the CityBoy Movement in the state and the opening of its secretariat in Abeokuta on October 3, 2026.
He expressed confidence that the state could deliver the promised votes, pointing to its estimated 3.01 million registered voters as a major advantage for the ruling party.
The senator also linked his support for Tinubu’s re-election bid to ongoing federal projects, arguing that the administration had made significant contributions to Ogun State through infrastructure development.
Among the projects he highlighted were the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway, the Sokoto-Badagry Road and the rehabilitation of the Sagamu-Benin Expressway.
The CityBoy Movement, which is working to build grassroots support for Tinubu’s second-term ambition, also announced plans to strengthen its presence across Ogun’s communities ahead of the election.
Adeola’s pledge comes after Governor Dapo Abiodun made a similar commitment to deliver two million votes for Tinubu in the state.
With two major APC figures now setting the same target, Ogun is emerging as a key battleground in the party’s efforts to secure a strong electoral showing for the president in 2027.
