Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, has directed the state Attorney General to step into the case involving Aba-based content creator, Glad Unique, who was remanded in prison custody until February 17, 2027.
The governor said he was unhappy with the decision to keep the young woman behind bars for several months while awaiting the next stage of her case.
Otti disclosed that he had instructed the Attorney General to reach out to all parties involved and explore ways of resolving the matter.
“I don’t agree that someone should be sent to jail until next year. I have asked the Attorney General to wade into the matter,” the governor said.
He further urged the Attorney General to engage those involved in the dispute and work towards securing Glad Unique’s release.
“Engage with the parties to sort it out and let the poor girl go,” he added.
The governor’s intervention comes amid growing public concern over the content creator’s prolonged detention, particularly the decision to keep her in custody until February 2027.
