Ikono Local Government Area is set to witness a major youth-focused development today, Friday, as Governor Umo Eno commissions the ARISE Youth Development Centre as part of activities marking Akwa Ibom State’s 39th anniversary.

The commissioning, scheduled for 3:00 p.m., is expected to attract government officials, traditional rulers, community leaders, youth groups, stakeholders and residents, with the new centre positioned as a platform for skills acquisition, youth empowerment and access to opportunities.

Ahead of the ceremony, preparations at the venue have reached an advanced stage, with event tents erected, the red carpet laid and the stage set for the arrival of the governor and other dignitaries. The atmosphere in Ikono has also been building in anticipation of the unveiling.

The facility is expected to provide young people in Ikono with a dedicated environment for development, capacity building and skills enhancement, while supporting efforts to prepare youths to become more productive participants in the state’s economy.
