The Progressive Governors Forum (PGF) has ruled out any political arrangement that could undermine the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the 2027 general elections approach.
The governors, after a closed-door meeting in Abuja, said their loyalty remained firmly with the APC and its candidates across all elective positions.
PGF Chairman and Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodinma, said the forum would not support arrangements capable of creating divided loyalty or conflicting interests within the party.
The position is seen as a setback to the proposed “Rainbow Coalition” being championed by FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, which is expected to draw support from politicians across party lines.
Uzodinma said, “No arrangement that causes confusion, divided loyalty, or conflicting interest within the party will be entertained.”
