Air Peace has apologised to passengers affected by recent flight delays and cancellations, attributing the disruptions to a combination of adverse weather, technical challenges and other unforeseen operational circumstances.
The airline’s management, in a statement, said it understood the frustration and inconvenience caused by the disruptions and deeply regretted their impact on passengers’ travel plans.
It explained that an inadvertent false fire alarm had grounded one of its aircraft, while adverse weather conditions resulted in diversions, delays and, in some instances, outright cancellations of flights.
Air Peace also said another aircraft was grounded for several days following a bird strike, while technical issues affecting some aircraft required mandatory checks and maintenance before they could return to service.
According to the airline, delays in the availability of aviation fuel also contributed to some of the disruptions, noting that several of the circumstances were beyond its immediate control.
The carrier said it was focused on managing the challenges responsibly, minimising disruptions and ensuring that passengers did not bear the consequences of its operational difficulties.
Air Peace, however, stressed that it would not compromise safety in an attempt to maintain flight schedules, insisting that the safety of passengers, crew and aircraft remained its highest priority.
The airline assured passengers that no aircraft would be released for service until its technical teams and relevant safety procedures had confirmed that it was safe to fly, adding that safety-related decisions would always take precedence over schedule.
