Police Detain Radda’s CSO, ADC Amid Katsina APC Crisis

The Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Disu, has reportedly detained the Chief Security Officer (CSO) and Aide-de-Camp (ADC) to Katsina State Governor, Dikko Umaru Radda, amid escalating political tensions within the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state.

SaharaReporters reported that the two officers had been in detention at the Force Headquarters in Abuja since Thursday, August 20, 2026, citing multiple sources familiar with the development.

The reported detention comes against the backdrop of growing political differences between factions within the Katsina APC, with the dispute raising concerns among stakeholders ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The development is also coming amid reports of the withdrawal of some security personnel attached to the governor, further fuelling concerns over the intersection of the political crisis and the state’s security arrangements.

SaharaReporters said efforts to obtain official comments from the relevant authorities on the reported detention were unsuccessful as of the time of filing its report.
