US President Donald Trump has said he believes Iran’s Supreme Leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, is alive despite sustaining serious injuries during the Israeli-US strikes on Iran earlier this year.
According to TheNewsGuru, Trump made the remarks on Wednesday during an interview with conservative radio host Glenn Beck, saying the Iranian leader was badly wounded and suffered injuries to the left side of his body.
The comments contrast with earlier statements by Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who had both declared Ali Khamenei dead following the strikes. Trump had previously described the former Iranian leader as one of the most evil figures in history, while Netanyahu said there were indications that he had been killed.
Trump’s latest remarks have renewed attention on the condition of Iran’s current Supreme Leader and the country’s leadership amid continuing tensions. The attacks also triggered a missile response from Iran, with projectiles launched towards several locations across the Middle East and residents in affected cities seeking shelter.
