Governor Eno’s Projects Will Answer Critics At Polls — A’Ibom APC Chair

The Akwa Ibom State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) says Governor Umo Eno’s projects and development initiatives will provide the most effective response to his critics ahead of the forthcoming elections.

State APC Chairman, Obong Stephen Ntukekpo, stated this at Ikot Ekpe, Mkpat Enin Local Government Area, during the commissioning of a model Primary Health Centre as part of activities marking the 39th anniversary of Akwa Ibom State.

Ntukekpo said the administration’s projects across the state would increasingly shape the political conversation as the elections approach, stressing that voters would ultimately assess government by its impact on their communities.

“We will not be distracted by blackmailers, naysayers and perpetual election losers,” he declared, saying the party would remain focused on supporting an administration delivering projects and programmes with direct benefits to the people.

According to him, the roads, schools, healthcare facilities and human-capital development initiatives being executed by the Eno administration would constitute a stronger campaign message than political attacks.

“The projects and achievements of Governor Umo Eno will speak for him, and those achievements will also campaign for our party,” the APC chairman said.

He cited the newly commissioned model PHC in Mkpat Enin as an example of the administration’s grassroots intervention, noting that the facility would bring essential healthcare services closer to residents and reduce the need for people in surrounding communities to travel long distances for basic medical attention.

The Governor, who was represented at the event by the Commissioner for Works and Fire Service, Prof. Eno James Ibanga, was also commended by Ntukekpo for projects executed in Mkpat Enin and other parts of the state.

Ntukekpo further praised the Governor for appointing indigenes of Mkpat Enin into positions in his administration, describing the appointments as evidence of an inclusive governance approach.

“Leadership is about inclusion, and the Governor has demonstrated that he believes that every part of Akwa Ibom has a role to play in the development of the state,” he said.

The APC chairman urged residents to take ownership of the new health facility and protect it to ensure that the investment continues to serve its intended purpose.

He said the APC would approach the forthcoming electoral season with a message centred on development, peace and good governance, urging the people to continue supporting the Eno administration.

The commissioning of the model PHC formed part of activities marking the 39th anniversary of the creation of Akwa Ibom State.
