Aliko Dangote has signalled a preference for small-scale investors in the planned public share sale of his refinery, with applicants seeking to invest N50,000 or less set to receive priority.
The billionaire businessman made the disclosure at an investment roadshow in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, where the proposed initial public offering (IPO) was discussed, The Shade District reported.
Dangote said the arrangement was intended to favour Nigerians who may not have large sums available for investment, potentially expanding access to equity ownership in the refinery.
The proposed approach would place smaller investors among the priority groups in the share offer. However, it remains unclear from the available report how the preference will work in practice or what proportion of shares may be reserved for such applicants.
Further details, including eligibility requirements, subscription procedures and the final allocation framework, will be determined by the formal terms of the IPO.
