A remarkable family union has captured attention in Akwa Ibom State after two identical twin sisters exchanged marital vows with a pair of identical twin brothers in a joint wedding celebration.
The brides, Roselyn and Joycelyn Bernard, are natives of Nung Efa community in Obio Offot, Uyo, while their husbands, Victor and Vincent Obasi, hail from Isiala Ngwa North Local Government Area of Abia State.
According to a report by Linda Ikeji’s Blog, Joycelyn married Victor, while Roselyn tied the knot with Vincent, bringing the two sets of identical siblings together in a rare double wedding.
The traditional marriage ceremony took place on Saturday, October 10, 2026, at St Mary’s Primary School, Obio Offot, Uyo. Family members, friends and other well-wishers gathered to celebrate the couples as they began their married lives.
The celebration followed an earlier church wedding held at Peculiar Citizens Assembly, where the couples formalised their union in a religious ceremony.
Beyond the significance of the occasion, the striking physical similarities between the four newlyweds made the event particularly eye-catching. The sisters reportedly share similar facial features, height, complexion and smiles, while the brothers also bear a close resemblance to one another.
Although details about how the couples met and developed their relationships have not been made public, their wedding has added to the list of twin-to-twin marriages that have attracted interest across Nigeria.
A similar event took place in June 2026 in Ibadan, Oyo State, when twin brothers Taiwo and Kehinde Oguntoye married twin sisters who also shared the first names Taiwo and Kehinde. Their joint ceremony attracted attention because of the unusual similarities between the two couples.
The Akwa Ibom wedding offers another striking example of two families of identical twins finding a shared bond through marriage, turning what would ordinarily be a wedding celebration into a memorable gathering for relatives and the wider community.
