Nigerian billionaire Aliko Dangote is seeking to expand his footprint in Africa’s petroleum industry through a proposed energy infrastructure investment in Namibia.
According to Channels Television, the proposal centres on the development of a large-scale petroleum storage terminal and regional pipeline network in Walvis Bay, a coastal city expected to serve as a strategic hub for fuel distribution across Southern Africa.
The planned storage facility is projected to accommodate at least 1.6 million barrels of petrol and diesel, potentially boosting Namibia’s capacity to store petroleum products and supply neighbouring markets.
Namibian President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah and other senior government officials attended the unveiling of the proposed investment, highlighting the government’s involvement in the development initiative.
