African Action Congress (AAC) presidential candidate Omoyele Sowore has warned against any attempt to rig the 2027 presidential election, saying Nigeria could be shut down if the election fails to produce a credible outcome.

Sowore stated this in a post on his X account on Wednesday while reflecting on his participation in a presidential candidates’ debate at the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Annual General Conference in Port Harcourt.

According to Sowore, he was asked who would win the 2027 election and whether the candidates would accept the outcome if the election was rigged.

Responding, he said, “We are fighters. We cannot win if we don’t fight, and we will win because we are fighters.”

Sowore also warned against accepting an election outcome that was not free and credible.

The Nigerian Voice reported that during the NBA conference, Sowore said Nigerians would not accept an outcome that failed to produce the right leader through a credible election.

“If we can’t get that, we shut down the country until we get the right leader who won an election,” he said.

Sowore’s remarks come as political activities intensify ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
