Nigerian-British Influencer Had Five Penile Filler Procedures Before Death — Thai Authorities

Thai health authorities have revealed that Nigerian-British businessman and social media influencer, Igho Ubiribo, underwent five penile filler procedures at a Bangkok clinic before his death, with the final treatment administered on the day he collapsed.

The Department of Health Service Support (DHSS) said Ubiribo, 43, had been a regular client of the clinic since 2024, undergoing four procedures between 2024 and 2025 before returning for a fifth on March 5, 2026.

According to the agency, the final procedure involved the injection of 40cc of a hyaluronic acid and lidocaine filler in a single session. The clinic said its doctor had advised that the volume be divided into two sessions, but Ubiribo insisted on receiving it at once and signed the required consent form.

Hours after the procedure, Ubiribo reportedly went for a massage at a hotel, where he developed chest pain and collapsed twice. He was subsequently rushed to Sukhumvit Hospital in Bangkok after losing consciousness.

Doctors reportedly suspected a blood clot and planned a CT angiography, but Ubiribo had no pulse by the time the scan was to be performed. Attempts to resuscitate him, including more than 100 minutes of CPR, were unsuccessful.

The Thai authorities inspected the clinic on September 7 alongside officials of the country’s Food and Drug Administration following a directive from the Public Health Minister, Pattana Promphat. DHSS Director-General Phuwadej Surakhot said evidence was still being gathered before the case could be referred to Thailand’s Medical Council for consideration of professional conduct.

A UK coroner had earlier linked Ubiribo’s death to a fatal pulmonary embolism associated with the procedure, while a postmortem reportedly found material in his lungs consistent with the injected filler. However, Thai authorities have yet to establish any finding of malpractice against the clinic or its practitioners.
