Aloy Ejimakor, lawyer to detained Biafra activist Nnamdi Kanu, has expressed confidence in Abia State Governor Alex Otti, describing him as a consistent and trustworthy leader.
Ejimakor made the remarks while reacting to Otti’s latest statement on efforts to secure Kanu’s release following his conviction and life sentence.
The governor had reaffirmed his personal commitment to ensuring that Kanu regains his freedom, stressing that he was prepared to pursue the matter despite the challenges involved.
Otti also disclosed that he was engaging other governors in the South-East as part of a wider effort to find a solution to Kanu’s continued detention.
According to the governor, discussions and moves aimed at securing Kanu’s freedom were ongoing, but he would not reveal specific details publicly because doing so could undermine the process.
His latest assurance has drawn attention from Kanu’s legal camp, with Ejimakor’s comments suggesting confidence in the governor’s sincerity and willingness to follow through on his promises.
The development comes amid growing concerns over the delay in the hearing of Kanu’s appeal against his conviction at the appellate court.
With the legal process still attracting attention, Otti’s reported consultations with South-East governors could become an important part of ongoing efforts to secure a resolution to the matter.
